Clinton ywca

In the summer of 2022, a small group of housing advocates approached HDG to help assess the scope, identify a location, and analyze the financial feasibility of developing a supportive housing program for homeless individuals and families.

The Clinton YWCA was identified as the most logical local agency to lead the project, with strong support from the city council and the Clinton County Board of Supervisors. Despite neighborhood opposition, the YWCA board of directors remained steadfast in their commitment to the project. With funding from the Iowa Finance Authority and the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, as well as local support from the city, county, and a private philanthropist, the project was officially launched.
